Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about accessing Boots and Bricks services, eligibility, coverage areas, and how to connect with our team.

Eligibility

Boots and Bricks serves seniors, families, individuals with disabilities, and underserved populations across the Bay Area. We work with people of all backgrounds — our focus is on those who need reliable, compassionate support and may not have easy access to traditional care channels. If you or a loved one needs help with daily living, property maintenance, or end-of-life support, reach out and we'll tell you straight whether we're the right fit.
Yes. We accept Medi-Cal and work with clients on fixed incomes. Our team will discuss payment options with you — including sliding-scale arrangements when appropriate — to make sure cost is never a barrier to getting the support you need. Don't assume you can't afford our services; talk to us and we'll find a way to help.

Services

We primarily serve the Bay Area — including Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, and surrounding East Bay communities, as well as San Jose, Alum Rock, Evergreen, and the greater South Bay. If you're outside these areas, contact us anyway and we'll do our best to point you toward appropriate resources.
Our in-home care covers a wide range of daily living support: bathing and personal hygiene, meal preparation and feeding, medication reminders, light housekeeping, companionship and emotional support, transportation to appointments, and errand running. We customize every care plan to the individual's needs — no cookie-cutter approaches. If you need something specific, ask us.

Costs & Payment

Costs vary based on the level of care needed, frequency of visits, and the specific services required. We work hard to keep our rates accessible — and we offer sliding-scale pricing for clients who qualify. Rather than give you a number that may not apply to your situation, we prefer to hear about your needs and discuss options honestly. Contact us for a personalized estimate; there's no obligation.
We accept Medi-Cal and offer sliding-scale pricing for clients with demonstrated financial need. We also work with clients who have long-term care insurance. For those paying out-of-pocket, we discuss flexible arrangements to ensure services remain accessible. We never want cost to prevent someone from getting the help they need — ask us about your specific situation and we'll work to find a solution.

Referring a Client

Yes — every single team member who visits a client's home has been thoroughly background-checked. This is a non-negotiable part of how we operate. We are trusted guests in people's homes, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our staff is also fully insured and bonded, so you can refer clients with confidence.
